Meet Sheri Weiner
Sheri Weiner—a doctor, long-time Nashvillian, and two-term Councilwoman—has established a lengthy history of service to the greater Nashville community.

Sheri was first elected to represent her Bellevue-area Council district in 2011 following terms as president of the Exchange Club of Bellevue and Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce. She previously served on the board of the Jewish Community Center and was recognized as Bellevue Citizen of the Year for her community service.
In her role in Metro leadership, Sheri has earned a reputation as a proven consensus builder, inviting diverse opinions and offering thoughtful conversation when tackling difficult issues. She has also sought to bring her expertise in helping businesses and other organizations manage their budgets and improve processes to her work as a public servant.
Sheri was unanimously elected to serve as Metro Council President Pro Tempore in 2017 and ascended to the position of Acting Vice Mayor in March when then-Vice Mayor David Briley took over as Mayor.
Sheri has degrees from the University of Georgia, University of Florida, and University of Tennessee. She has lived in Nashville since 1981 and has two daughters; two young grandchildren; and three rescue puppies.
